Fatty acid esters of Diglycerol and Polyglycerol-3 are non-ionic surfactants with anti-fogging, antistatic and lubricating properties.

Most of these esters are highly biodegradable and are approved as direct  food additives in many countries. That is why they are used as polymer additives for food packaging and agricultural films.
